There has been a lot of talk about importing Dewats, lots of opinions and conjecture on the subject, but has an individual ever actually imported a dewat from the UK succesfully?

apparently you cannot import a dewat of a prohib anymore customs comsiders them live or somthing like that we are left only with those in canada now

It could be done, but you have to have the (non)firearm brought in as if it was live, and to a person/business liscenced to hold that class of a gun. So if it is a ungrandfathered prohib, it limits who it can go to. It then gets submitted for it's deactivation status.
There have been no imports that I have known of. It is possible, but not really economical. With the number of prohibs still in Canada, coupled with a declining number of people liscenced to hold them, and the fact that they can't get ATTs to shoot them, the prohibs are not overly priced in my opinion. I've seen some pretty select guns sit on shelves because the F/A guys just aren't buying like they used to.

Collector's source brings in some dewats from time to time, but it seems like they come more from the Fins, than England. You can always check with them.

south of the border, "Once a machine gun, ALWAYS a machine gun"
Even if the reciever is welded solid with NO guts.

Why, the gang bangers just MIGHT reactivate those Lewis guns, chauchats, and other stuff by remanufacturing the parts! Yeah, suuuuure:rolleyes:

We can't even DO THAT anymore. Whats here and papered is all we get, and there are more collectors out there. Not to mention the rich bastards who buy them for an investment and never shoot them.

ya john you guys had years of super cheap "kits" just about every subgun and machinegun made was imported as "kits"

for cheap

we have never had that

we cant really build our own guns (you can but the gov has not figured out how to register them yet...)

Reminds me of a funny. I got my STEN kit out of Canada. Built it into a working gun way back when that was still allowed in 1981.

The good part was that I got the front reciever tube WITH the ejector in place so I didn't have to fiddle around installing that bit. Later kits had the tube completely missing.
