DI 9MM ammo

Hey guys was at an auction sale last weekend and picked up some 32special ammo, but along with it came a bunch of miscellaneous hand gun ammo, was looking at the stuff and i noticed the 9 MM stamped DI 44 with 3 triangles spaced around the primer thats four rounds, the other 2 are stamped b/|\E 44
and one stamped H/|\N 44

now im assuming its military stuff, is it ok to shoot in a regular pistol? some one wrote on another forum that they use corrosive primers,

Are they worth anything?

DI 44 can be a bit hot. I'd not use it in a Luger. Some of the stuff we ran was around 1400 fps......

"...ok to shoot in a regular pistol..." Yep. It was made for STENS and Inglis BHP's. Don't know if it's corrosive. That isn't a big deal anyway. You just flush with hot water and clean as per normal. Might have some collector value, but not likely a great deal.

The B/l\E and H/l\N are British, HN is Hirwaun (sp?) in Wales. C/BE. The DI is NC/B.

i bought it in a lot, and have no use for it, my buddy has a 9MM maybe ill just give it to him,

I had a handful of similar cartridges, and had trouble getting them to go off in a Sig set up for regular commercial ammunition. Don't know if they were old/deteriorated, or just likely hard military primers.

Rather than pack up some half-dimpled old rounds for later so I could try them in a pistol with a stiffer main-spring, I just put them in the range's disposal box.
