At 6lb, 8oz and only 38" in OAL, this ultra light, ultra packable system sacrifices nothing in terms of long range capability, posting 2803fps with the Barnes 168gr LRX, and 2837fps with the 175gr Fusion Tipped ammos. The 7mm Backcountry has been delivering the advertised velocities, with repeatable accuracy. Despite the horsepower and light weight, the recoil pulse of the caliber coupled with an effective side port brake makes for a very shootable system.

"Dialed-In" and ready to ship:

With the barrel being 16” and having a muzzle brake is the muzzle blast to the shooter more obnoxious compared to say a 22”+ length barrel with a brake out of a 7prc?

The closer proximity of the side port brake is noticeable over a 20 or 22", which we shoot a lot of. Definitely wouldn't want to shoot it without hearing protection, which is true in general. Nothing wrong with a free exfoliation/facial!
