Diana R22 carbon bolt action

Who has shot one held one got an opinion on one .

Bad Triggers, not as accurate as they look, and certainly not really reliable. They and BSA sell the same gun with minor variations; both are junk. Spend a bit more and get a CZ, or a bit less and get a Lakefield Mk. II; both are better rifles.

Thanks I all ready own 2 CZ 452 rifles . that are fantastic shooters . seen the Diana r22 at cabelas . I no nothing about them . they look to be a descent rifle at about 2/3 the price of a new CZ .

It’s a CZ Clone. Not a direct clone but a clone never the less. Barrel is 455/457 two bolt style barrel interface with a 452 bolt and safety. I’ve started shooting it in NRS, ORPS and the upcoming CRPS matches this month here in SWO. I’ve been meaning to do a quick write up on it to get more information out there as well as a disassembly/reassembly video to help others decide on whether it’s worth their hard earned dollars. Can’t agree with the other gentleman in terms of the trigger I find it rather decent for the price point and it’s class which is a budget hunting/plinking rifle.
If you think this will match up to a CZ 457 Varmint Pro or something of that sort your incredibly confused.

Info on the Rifle:
-Carbon Fibre is nothing but a shroud. It may have some effect on rigidity but I find it hard to believe
-trigger is adjustable and will accept a YoDave Spring I imagine with some fitting as the trigger is the same as the 452
-magazines are nice but super hard to find/easy to load
-minor sanding to interior of barrel channel was needed to free float the barrel. 320 Grit
-barrel came loose after first brick

If you plan on upgrading parts look elsewhere. CZ and Savage are your friends.
I purchased this rifle to run in production class. Nothing more, nothing less. For that role it has filled it real nicely. Will have to strap the rifle to a VISE on a still day and get some hard metrics. I can print 3/4” at 50m with CCI SV regularly. I’m not a good shot by any means. Very few people have handled these rifles or even shot them so take the information for what’s it worth. My experience could be far better or far worse than others.

Thanks rubberdonuts I appreciate the feed back .I only briefly handled the display model . the action seemed decently smooth and I was surprised to see the CZ 452 style bolt on the rifle . the bare rifle seemed well balanced . 3/4" groups at 50m are a bit larger than what either one of my 452 will do with that same ammo . but certainly not bad for a rifle at this price point considering a plain jane wood stocked 1022 is approaching the same price point and has nowhere the same accuracy out of the box . would appreciate a follow up report when you get some more use on the rifle . thanks rembolt .
