Was thinking of one of these in .22cal and was wondering if anyone has one of these and would care to comment.

I have a 48 in 22cal.
Its similar to 54
Accurate and on the heavy side ! Trigger is superb
Id never sell mine
Side lever takes some getting use to
mine shoots good with cheepy daisy pellets.. for varmints and pests

I had a 48 in 177 a while back that was outstanding and like stated above, the side handle takes a little getting used to. I did find it a little on the loud side due to the big main spring that powers it and it would easily shoot thru a 2x4 at 10m. Ended up selling off all my springers and went to a PCP now.

Be aware these are very hard on scopes, even airgun rated scopes.
Because they use a sled to make the gun recoilless to the shooter,, the barrel, piston chamber and scope travel forward and back violently during the shot cycle.
That part of the recoil that is normally absorbed by the stock and your shoulder is now absorbed by the scope and mounts.
They are also very heavy.
They are a very well put together air gun usually very accurate, and are excellent shot off the bench.
When I was looking I ended up with a HW97KT, still not sure whether I chose right or not.;)

^^^ I forgot that this was another reason I got away from springers. My 48 chewed through two Bushnells and even a Leupold.

Ive got just a cheepy tasco airgun ao scope on mine and its doing well.. but shortly i intend to put a hawke scope with glass etched reticle and ao . Airgun rated scopes are a must.
The 48 is louder than my 31 ..
i cant say that there is anything i dont like about the 48 other than the heavy weight… but when its on a bench or a rest, that weight makes it really stable and a good shooter.
they tend to not last long on shelves.. i had to wait for mine
