Did Daniel Defense decide they were selling too many rifles?

I like the new Cerakote colour, but that stock is just hideous. I hope this isn't a new trend in AR's.

I love the DD rifles, but I hope whoever came up with that gets fired. If I wanted a space gun I would buy a Benelli or Beretta. One of the best features of the DD rifle was it already had a great Magpul stock.

I'd be curious to hear a little bit more of the design theory behind that stock.

My theory is the curved butt pad is supposed to make vertical tracking easier and the curved portion of the stock by the adjustment lever, is supposed to be hooked over your shoulder when firing an under mounted grenade launcher a la LAW launcher :)

The butt pad itself reminds me of some the H&K pads, so that makes sense. I like the QD and regular sling mounts and their positions. Looks light enough. Textured cheek piece might be neat as long it doesn't require a tactical-beard-face-shield.

It's just the loop . . . Perhaps some kind of magic carry handle? Maybe it can be fitted with a scythe blade for butt-stroke soul-harvesting?

Yeah my thoughts too.

Not a fan of their pistol grip either. Looks stupid.

DD probably hired them from Mossberg.

+1, looks like they're copying the HK 416's pistol grip angle. The buttstock is horrible, not a fan at all. It looks like the shoulder thing that goes up (or way down in this case) is trying to accommodate a per "operator preference" as far as cheek weld/chin weld goes. There was a stock marketed a few years back that allowed the operator to position the firearm higher on the shoulder if needed, I don't think it caught on cause, it too, was hideous. DD needs to stick with Magpul.

Anyone who buys one of these will become an instant "operator", as the first thing they do, will be to surgically remove the abortion attached to the rear of the firearm.
