Wasn't planning on buying an sks at crappy tire but here it is 1950r, matching numbers.
Theres no refurb marks on the metal, and no "#########" on the stock. Implying this is a non-refurb?
Also it has a low triple digit serial number in the 500s. this uncommon?
Debating on selling it cause it was a pure impulse buy....but we'll see.

The black bayonet is considered a sign that the rifle has been refurbished and laminated stocks were only originally on some later model SKS rifles (sometimes a sign of being refurbished also), but it's still a nice looking rifle and would still be a fun shooter.

Yeah, black bolt carrier or bayonet is refurb... The spring question is a good one... Do tell! Those were axed 51 and up I believe...

I'm looking to buy a Russian Sks btw... I sold my Sks rifles long ago... Time to get back into it! Anyone know of a good deal, let me know!

Its hard to tell from my crap pics, The bolt carrier is silver. The bolt itself has a free floating firing pin.
Whats are the obvious signs a stock is laminated?

It's refurbed, or repaired. You can see a faint diamond/box stamp on reciever cover. 1950 would also have a spring loaded firing pin.
Chrome bore?

All in all should be a great gun.

I picked one up from lever a few years ago for 150 shipped I believe.
Mine was a 1950 lam, but it was matching and blued otherwise. Stock must have been damaged because it showed zero evidence of firing. Non chrome bore shoots head and shoulders above my chromed 54

That's a refurb but a good quality and worth about $280 right now but will be worth double that in 5 years. Should be $600 in 5 years. I love the black bayonet and it has a nice stock. I own a similar one.

Does the serial number on the magazine match the rest of the gun? Is there any laser etching on the barrel under the gas tube?

It was $199 at my LGS. Too bad I didn't pick one up.
