Or did I do OK?

After looking for Federal Large Rifle 215 Magnum primers for the last half-year with no success I ran across 2 bricks at a gun swap a couple weeks ago. As I have been unable to find some at any price was the 50 bucks a thousand I paid too much or is Federal still having problems filling the Canadian demand?

Worry not, at least you have them. A year from now, if you still hadn't found any, you'd pay $100 and be happy to have them...:)

I bought some a month ago for $31.99/1k, but these days its just being in the right place at the right time...

You got violated. I bought 3K at WSS in Saskatoon in March and they had about 20K or each - Magnum and Standard Large Rifle.

I buy 'em whenever I see 'em and still think I'm short.

The question begs a question. Is it economical to curtail use of ,000's of dollars in firearms and sporting gear while waiting for primer prices to drop by 25 bucks a brick? Is it better to spend 30 bucks in gas scouring the area to maybe save that 25 bucks?

Enjoy using your primers and the rounds they produce. That's what its all about. It'll be winter soon.

You got a deal!

The place at the top of the hill on the south side of town here (you know the place) wants $8.99/100 for CCI standard large rifle primers.

I bought 4000 215's last week for $35/thou. Got another 5000 Fed Match for $42/thou.

;) They're out there. You just have to find the little shops that horded them.

Frank's wants that much??? I can see rationing them, due to short supply, but that's just gouging. I was in there on Monday, seeing if they had any Amax .308 155's or Varget. Surprise, Surprise- they didn't.
I'll have to really watch their prices next time I'm through Quesnel.

My buddy paid 7.25/100 in prince albert due to the fact that saskatoon had none, but only bought 5 trays. A week later WSS finally got some in and he paid 50 or 52/1000 taxes in. So all in all just be happy you got them because it seems that all the primers are getting hard to get.

I've managed to find a few thousand 215M lately, some for $38 + tax some for $55+ tax. If you need them they're not too expensive.

Sometimes its just better to pay a couple extra bucks and have them than not have them. I found 10,000 215 Match the other day for $50/1000 tax in, and happy to get them. I'd gladly pay a small premium for small rifle primers right now.

Well if anyone wants some Federal large rifle magnum or large rifle primers I might have some to trade for Federal small pistol magnum. Calgary only.
