Did I win the LTATT lottery?

I was just scanning and reprinting my LTATT that I just got today and I noticed a couple of things that suprrised me.

1. It is for all restricted registered to my house. This is nice because I don't have to get new LTATTs every time I buy a new pistol. I thought LTATT were issued for you current inventory only. I guess I am pleasantly wrong on that one.

2. It is for 5 years: I thought Ontario was issuing only 1 year ones. Again pleasantly wrong.

3. It is good for all Ontario CFO approved ranges: I thought LTATT's were only good for ranges you were a member of. I remember reading threads where others were complaining about this.

Are all Ontario LTATT's like this, or did I win the CFO lottery?

No it's all the same. Any restricted's you buy are covered. Your club has some influence as to how long it's good for.
Don't even think of taking a restricted gun to a club you don't belong to without an invitation.

Don't know about Ontario, but my BC one is pretty much identical to yours, except that it is 'only' good for BC, Alberta, and the Yukon :)

How come you got Alberta as well? You IPSC or IDPA? And I'm curious, when did you apply for and get yours?

I'm curious, the LTATT says specifically any Ontario CFO approved club. Wouldn't that apply to day passes, or guest passes at friends clubs?

Ontario sucks..... but I guess that's not news.

I frequently take my pistols to clubs away from home and simply register as a guest and go shoot.

A few people might look when I tip down the shooting table and shoot from the holster, but if you talk to the RO first, it's generally no biggie.

Yeah... I guess that's why noone ever goes to a match at any club other than the one they got their att through...

Ont att's are good for any cfo approved range... Not just the one you happen to belong to.
'Sure one needs to be invited or be a guest at a club they don't belong to, but that's club policy... otherwise you'd be trespassing. 'Has nuttin' to do with the CFO and their silly att's

As mentioned by 667, if you're going to a competition at a club that's okay. I don't know of any club in the Ottawa area that you can show up and get a day pass for restricted plinking.

in quebec you have one LTATT per club, so it doesn't state what restricted weapon you can transport

thought your lotery won was related to the fact you received it in a short time, i think no one can beat me. Sent my papers a monday (by normal canda post) and received the LTATT the same week's friday. WOW

Maybe not a day pass per-sey, but A guest pass with a friend who is a member of another range?

Just an FYI for people in the Ottawa area. Connaught is not a CFO approved range so your regular ATT or LTATT does not cover it, it requires a rider on the ATT that includes DND Connaught.

Mine is for BC, Yukon and Alberta as well :)

Same question for you too, then- when did you get this, and are you in IPSC or IDPA? I'm asking because I'm limited to BC/Yukon only, and the BCCFO is saying that LTATT's are limited to province of issue only. So I'm seriously interested in how you get Alberta included on yours.
Reply by PM if you'd prefer, thanks in advance.

The 'new' BC CFO is making up new rules as quickly as possible so that BC can catch up with all of the illegal restrictions in the rest of the country. We've gone from the most common sense system in the country (along with Alberta) to an absolute mess of made up on the fly B*llsh#t regulations. I'm starting to get sick of this crap, "the rules apply but thet're not written down, and yes you can be royally screwed for breaking them, but we're still not going to put them on paper because we'll get sacked if we have to go to court to defend them, and loose because they're unconstitiutional and unsupported in law".
