Did Steyr Make an M95 .22 or .25 Training Rifle?

I was talking to a friend of mine that told me he saw a Steyr M95 with a notch milled out of the top of the receiver, which would expose a round if inserted.

The owner said the firearm shot a 25 or 22 bullet. I think the gun might be demilled but I am no expert on Steyr M95's.

If someone on the site has some information on Steyr firearms I would appreciate it.

What you saw was,in fact, a demilled rifle.... The firing would have been cut as well.
Quite a number of these found their way on to the Canadian market years ago....
It remains somewhat of a mystery as to why they were done like this and by whom.
