I am looking to reload 40SW. for a Glock 22. Has anyone had good success with the Lee 3 die set or is the 4 die set required.

Thanks

I like the Lee four die sets because I like to seat and crimp in separate operations and the carbide factory crimp die works great. "BUT" if you plan on using cast lead bullets the carbide factory crimp die will size your oversized cast bullets and ruin your day. With all other type jacketed and plated bullets it works just fine.

Below Glock 22, Lee four die set, Rainier plated 165 grain bullets and 40 lite loads, 50 rounds shot with 65 year old chronologically gifted eyesight and loaded on a 41 year old Rockchucker press. (I don't need braille bullets yet) :dancingbanana:

I have both the Lee 4 die set that I use in a Forster single press and have the Dillon dies as well both work great.

For precision work I'd use the single stage

The difference between the 3 and 4 die set is the Factory Crimp die, but it really doesn't matter who makes your dies. Having a carbide sizer die does matter. Lee's warrantee is not as good as RCBS', but you don't pay as much for Lee kit either.
If you opt for Lee, throw the silly non-standard calibration(cc's are not used) scoop away.

RCBS has a great warranty but I got rid of nearly all my RCBS dies because of their decapping rod assembly. If you get a stuck case in a Lee or Hornady die you can remove the decapping assembly and drive the case out from the top with a punch. The RCBS decapper is threaded into the top of the die and there is no way to remove it if a case gets stuck. I can't remember what Lyman dies are like.
