Hello all. I'm working on my first AR, so i'm pretty noob about it. I received a Diemaco bcg (5.56mm) on a trade last year. I have since bought a complete NEA 7.62x39mm upper. I'm not sure what to do about the Diamaco bcg. I've read that I can just swap the 7.62 bolt into the Diemaco bcg, and it will all work. This true? Is there any advantage of doing this? If not, then what do Diemaco BCGs go for used?

If youve got a complete 7.62x39 BCG (bolt carrier group), use that. Otherwise, yes, you should just be able to swap the bolt into the diemaco carrier.

AR 15 BCG is universal.

Bcg is the entire assembly. By referring to it like this you are confusing. You meant that the bolt carrier (not Bolt Carrier Group) is almost universal. The Bolt is not universal (as you know - but Op is confused about). Therefore the BCG is not universal.

You can not use the same bcg with 5.56 and 7.62. The bolt carrier can be reused but the bolt must be switched out.
