Colt bought out Diemaco. Colt Canada is the same company but the C7 series of rifles aren't the same ones you'll find on irunguns for $1000. There's a reason why the C7 is such a popular rifle in various military communities.


You're way off base. The comparison is a joke. NEA doesn't hold a candle to anything CC, Colt USA, DD, BCM, LMT, KAC, hell even Shrubmaster or DPMS put together. The barrel is but one component, its the quality of the components that is being debated here, not the design. If your NEA functions I'm sure it will print decent groups, but I doubt it will last as long as any of the above mentioned brands. Again, no one is disputing that the CC rifle is decent shooter and well made. The debate is whether or not the extreme price tag is justified, and its not. Based on specs its grossly over priced. Based on the MIL/LE discount, its over priced. Based on the sudden price "adjustments" it is over priced.

Like I said, just for fun. If you want to compare this civilian C7 to a KAC or something go ahead, I'll put my money on the C7.
If you don't like the price don't buy it that's all.

While we're at it we can take bets on how long before they show up on EE at stupid prices.

You asked for pricing to be available to any member of the public. We took a vote in the tent and the unanimous opinion was that prices already are available to any member of the public - all you have to do is follow up on that link and you'll get what you're asking for.
 
This thread is a whole lot of "hey, this makes sense in my own head, who needs to do the research and know the facts, I'll just write this down and pretend its true".
Is Colt Canada the same company as Colt? What was the agreement when Diemaco was purchased? Volkswagen Auto Group owns lambourghini....
So many assumptions, so little references and fact to back it up.

Exactly. People can't wrap their heads around the fact a C7 Diemaco isn't a $1000 colt AR15


Can someone PM me the email I can contact these Korth guys at in order to buy one of the discounted C8s? If my NEA ####s the bed I'll probably switch to a C8.

Because it's a private company offering a deal to a group of individuals they respect enough to help out as they see fit. Nothing about it involves public participation. This isn't a government project accessible by access to information requests. It's more akin to a private benefactor helping out a school and wishing to remain anonymous. Respect their decision to keep it private and move on.
