I have a buddy who is in the states (Las Vegas) on vacation right now and he visited one of the local guns shops last week and he couldve swore they were selling complete Diemaco full auto triggers, bolts and lower receivers... I thought Diemaco only sells to government agencies? were these parts stolen?

Colt uses Diemaco parts so you'll find uppers and bolt's in the US.
Actually, Diemaco (Heroux-Devtek) was bought-out by Colt Industries several years ago and is now known as Colt Canada.

So today, Colt Canada actually makes complete guns and gun parts for Colt Defence Industries international. Depending on demand in the U.S., you might find lots of parts on the (U.S.) civilian market made by Colt Canada.

I have seen several Colt Canada (Diemaco) uppers find their way back into Canada after being exported to the U.S.

Certainly not the norm......

may be a question all ready answered but why can't Colt Canada sell guns in Canada?
I believe it was one of the original conditions of establishment and operation in Canada.

It just made it politically acceptable at the time to establish a military weapons manufacturing plant in Kitchener, Ontario; but only for military, LEO sales/use only.

As it is, they get picketed at least one a week by one group or another protesting the big-bad gun makers....sheesh.

how about the lower reciever? The picture he sent me from his black berry shows 3 lowers of which 2 recievers bear the "D" logo from diemaco and 1 bear the Canadian Forces C8 markings... ser # 07AB01465 i thought it would have the colt markings instead of Diemaco markings? would be nice to have tho :p

ill see if i can do it when i get home as i need to find a usb card reader to upload the pics from my phone. So judging by your tone, those are not suppose to be down south?

As they say in french:

C'est la que les choses se corse.

Bad enough when I see Cadpat being sold commercially (not knock off, but the real stuff). Now a CF C8 lower?

Since importing a machine gun into the US by normal means isn't possible, and the CF does not sell off surplus weapons to civilians, it certainly is interesting.

I've heard that some CF weapons have gone missing in the past. The CF and the RCMP would be interested in this. IIRC, AB is a C8 S/N.

sorry kako911....ive spent like an hour last night taking apart my room looking for the damn card reader but cant find it :( i did find some interesting things tho lol but anyways i dont feel like going out to buy another card reader when i know i have it just misplaced it....unless you really really want to see it

when i went to colt canada on a tour i asked about civilian sales and they told me that they will not sell to civies. but, they do sell to LEO in the USA which have been known to auction or sell off firearms and that is how some end up in civie hands. all i have to say on it is, if you own something with a diamaco stamp on it, you better have the paperwork to prove where you got it from.

Except ther serial is marked 07.... It is quite possible that has never been sold to the CF and was send elsewhere after production. Just like many of us have rifles marked Law Enforcement Only etc.

The upper on my LE6920 is a Diemaco... and while I still have the receipt, I'm not too sure I need it... :) The rifle was bought 100% legit right here in Canada.
