OK....I'll play Only thing I am going to change is the optic...although the Diemaco BUS does co-witness very nicely with the Vortex. I did change out the grip to an L119a1 style as it is a little bigger and has the battery compartment. I was a little disappointed that the mag release and charging handle weren't ambidextrous.....but oh well. Fit and finish was excellent although I am pretty sure I got a used magazine.....

Thats's a nice setup, I think sometimes in the world of 10.3"s we forget that 20" guns are still carbines.

Yes indeed this is the first 20" AR I've had since my issued C7A1, I'd forgotten how handy the full size rifles actually are. The big thing is the collapsible stock, really gives it that faster-handling, carbine feel vs the fixed stock I'm used to with the A1.

+1 that's a very nice setup, should be able to do just about anything with that - I'd throw an M4 front sling mount and a Vickers on it, but that's just me.

ChrisAlston, I love the Elcan SpecterDr and LMT SOPMOD combination. Great looking rifle. I bought a Norgon Ambi-catch like the C7/C8's use. Works well with PMags but tends to stick with aluminum mags.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I was thinking of adding a Norgon ambi catch as well! I will be changing out the sling eventually too, I like the Magpul slings but think I'm going to look into the Vickers, I'm always hearing good things about them.

Nice C8, I do love that green furniture. What sort of optic you thinking? And don't worry, the magazine I got looks used too, but that's just how they look. I've bought a bunch of these exact same mags brand new and they all look scratched up haha.

There is two different styles of triads. One for the C7 and a short one for the C8A3.

They are OK mags, same as Colt uses and several other manufacturers. They are Teflon coated and all look like that when they are brad new. Doesn't affect function at all.

We chose these because they work and they were as close to C7 and C8 mags as we could source.

Ok, now that that’s settled, back to pictures? Just got this guy in the mail from Cadex. For $48 , I figured what the hell, might as well do a bit of Frankensteining so I took off the KAC/P&S vertical grip and threw on the Cadex one. The last thing I want now is an Elcan. As I understand it, the C79A2 is unobtanium, so the Specter DR is what I’m thinking about....way out of my price range so I’ll have to sell a few toys (just sold my first AR last night).

Also added a Magpul trigger guard and the B.A.D. Lever (ducks from the brick thrown by Yohanne160).

Got rail? Is that a BCM charging handle? I can look past the Magpoop kool aid if it is. = )

Yup, definitely a consideration, but I'll probably just run the Bushy for now. I really should get some of my gun debt under control before buying more stuff. The wife's really been on my case after she found out I bought the SA20, haha!
