A carbine stock wrench is the one to use,, not to be confused with a castle nut wrench.Why didn't they use a "real" castle nut? What type of wrench is required to remove that?

That rifle uses a castle nut. Take a look at the pics. I think your confused between the fixed stock model.
I think it comes down to a little bit of semantics with this.
