Anyone know where these dies are for sale.I'm specifically looking for the Redding # 80235.Its for a K31 rifle and I've done some research and found out that this rifle has a slightly different chamber then the other Swiss rifles.

Question for you reloading gurus.Does it really make a difference which die to use or is the just one man opinion that has been parroted many time until its legend?.I see Hornady makes two sets of dies for the 7.5X55 as well. Thanks for your time. By the way I've bought some PVI P brass at the same time.

Another question is that if the new brass chambers fine, could one not just neck size with a .308 caliber neck sizing die and complete the reloads that way?Always fired in the same rifle should work fine.Right.

Have you tried higginsonpowders.com for brass? I don't know exactly you are looking for, but they have 284 WIN brass..

Also I see that CGN user slug is selling some 7.5 Swiss ammo.

The Swiss is a fatter case than the 308, so it probably won't fit a conventional neck sizing die. It won't fit my RCBS 308 neck sizer. But it WILL fit my Lee Collet neck sizer.

If you are shooting the brass in the same rifle, a neck sizer and a seater are all you need. Don't load too hot so you can put off the day they need a full length size. Then borrow a 284 Win sizer.

I've got the full Lee set. I have had no problems using the collet die to neck sized fired brass. The chambers are short, but generous. Repeated FL sizing will shorten brass life considerably. You can see the case difference here between GP11 and fire formed/neck sized reloads beside it. I use Win .284 brass, it's better quality then the Yugo 7.5x55 stuff, and cheaper too.
Hornady 150g FMJ's from Higginsons shoot as good or better then any match bullet I have run through it.....nice price on those too.

Reforming the brass is already doing too much work. TradeEx, a forum sponsor, has 7.5X55 Prvi for cheap enough.
They've also got the RCBS dies for 7.5 Swiss.

Reforming .284 brass doesn't add any more steps or work to the process.....you still need to FL size the Prvi stuff when you get it.
Once run through the FL die, .284 brass doesn't even need to be trimmed to length.

So what your saying is that the k31 should be treated like a normal bolt action rifle.Initial full length resize then only neck size? From my gleaning of the swiss rifle forums I thought the reloading gurus only want you to full length resize because of the lack of sufficient camming action from the straight pull/push bolt. That way you are almost certain not to have any chambering issues. Hey if I can get away with only neck resizing like my enfield, count me in.

It's your call, but I can tell you I have not had any issues with neck sizing with Lee collet dies in my K31's.
I don't load real hot, the 150g are 2650fps.

I reload for my 1889 model, I use a hornady neck sizing die for 30 cal. #044045, and my cases are fired formed for my chamber. I have not had any issues at all for insertion or retraction. I also purchased a set of lee dies from wholesale sports, and brass (Graf) from ellwood epps in ontario. I do have to follow load requirements that come from 30-40 Krag due to the bolt design that this gun has. But other than that, I'm having fun with my 7.5x55. My load to date is IMR 4350 40gr. with rem mag primer, and hornady 220gr rnd nose. Not sure if this will help in your quest with the k31, but i just thought I would throw in my 1.5 cents. Shoot often and shoot straight.
