Dies-RCBS or Lee

I need dies for 300 Win Mag and I'm deciding b/t the RCBS 2 die set and Lee 3 die set (w/ crimp). I've read a lot of good things about the Lee crimp so that's why I'm considering going with that set. OTOH, everything else I have on order is RCBS. Little help...thanks! :)
 
I'd go with the Lee set that includes the crimp die. I don't find much difference in quality between the RCBS and the Lee dies.
 
I have both RBS and Lee dies no complaints on either. Why not RCBS dies and buy the crimp die by itself. Best of both worlds.
 
I think I'm going to get lots of varying opinions on this one. iceman, I like your idea but maybe I'll just stick w/ the RCBS 2 die set and if I decide I want/need a crimp die I can get one down the line. It's not like I need a crimp die, right? The bullets should be in there pretty tight. :confused:
 
I have used both warranties,and they are both good. I have both in 30-06,and like the Lee better. But shooting a Magnun, the collet neck sizing die of the Deluxe set worth the extra money,you soon save that in brass costs anyway.And pick up the Factory crimp separate.
 
I use mainly RCBS dies, but for 300 win mag I am using the Redding 3 die set (neck sizer die/full size die/seating die). Quality is excellent, but it costs a bit of coin.
 
Lee customer service is great too. I've gotten free replacement parts from them before without even having to send in the old ones.


Anyway, I pretty much stick to the Lee Collet die Deluxe sets with the collet die, seater and FL size die. Everything you need in one unit (don't bother with a crimp on most calibers). I rarely use the FL die, but it DOES come in handy. The collet die is IMHO the best neck die on the market, hands down (including the expensive bushing dies). The seater is no big deal, but it's as good as the RCBS. If you're into high precision, it's the one die in the set that you may want to upgrade with a Redding/Forester/Bonanza benchrest seater

I use Lee, but I suggest swapping out the lock rings with ones that actually lock. Redding are very good, as are RCBS. Be Lee works well and at a great price.

Just try to get your Lee die replaced after the short warranty period runs out, RCBS dies will get fixed or replaced no matter how old they are. Plus the quality of RCBS is way above the Lee stuff.

I prefer Redding, but both RCBS and Lee dies have served my needs equally well. The targets don't seem to complain. ;)
