Difference between 590 and 590A1??

Other than the heavier barrel on the A1 is there any other differences between the 9 shot models? My little brother is eyeballing them at Wholesale sports but they offer little info.......mossy's web isn't much better.

As far as I know the A1 has the steel safety button and steel trigger guard as well.

What does the 590 have? Plastic or potmetal?

I have a 590 and it just has a plastic trigger guard. Never had any concern over it and I have thousands of rounds through it with no problem. The 590's also come with a heat shield, not sure if the A1's do or not.
