Difference between Grade 1 and Grade 2 "Made in Germany" Sig P226 refurbs?????

Got mine today and I'm impressed!! I ordered the grade 2 and it only appears to have been test fired! There's no real wear to the internals, and only a very small scuff on the left of the muzzle, and a little wear around the mag port. It seems like it was racked during practice, but not fired much. Absolutely perfect fit on the parts, and all numbers match. Brand new mec gar factory mags.
If you want an amazing price on an almost new gun this is it! I'll probably mark it up more on its first trip out than it is now.

That's funny, I've had mine out for the 2nd time, now 150 rounds through it. It now has that same wear scuff on the lower left of the barrel. Common I guess...

J ace,
I was unaware that the German models were fitted with long external extractors and E-2 grips.
Does the slide and barrel have German proof marks ?

No SFRC has alot of items that are marked down on regular basis.............the boxing week sale was an ADDITIONAL 10% off their prices.
FYI people i have a mint SIG for sale for cheaper then what these refurbs will be..............just saying

the 10 percent off was from their boxing week sale right?

so... no word yet here and nothing online on the sig site to clarify the official definitions... "Grade 1" and "Grade 2" are pretty much general terms with no specific meaning. G1 will look pretty good, g2 will maybe have a scuff and look ok also.

Someone has to roll the dice and buy both so they can post pics for us. But IBM seems to be most correct. Based on my grade 2, I couldn't justify the extra $ on the grade 1 without just getting a new one... But now I won't feel as bad about wear.

I have a german grade 1 226 coming this week or next, so I will post notes if there still isn't any official answer, but I expect like-new internals and maybe a bit of wear on the frame, maybe a touch of refinishing. I did a bunch of online searching but couldn't find anything that hinted the grades are objective official terminology, but I did find the prices americans are paying for grade 2 german sigs...

Not much to see, really. Very little wear. Oh, and the date code on my barrel is from 2006.

I just got my grade 1 P226, right on time, nice and quick.

a little wear around the mag well. A few small nicks here and there on the frame (like 1mm sized). A few holster-wear spots near the muzzle, slide lock. Finish doesn't look new but not terrible either - just a few black shiny spots on the black finish.

Internals were dirtier than I expected. Didn't look like it was stripped and re-greased inside on the springs and rails. Carbon build-up in spots... it was shot more than a few test fire shots without detail cleaning. Bore is fine, after lead and carbon was removed. The case and mags might be brand new, but nothing on the pistol seems brand new. Except the grips - they are pretty much flawless, clean and grippy.

The good news is that it functions very smooth and tight. Buttery. There are no dents or gashes in the metal. I used some birchwood casey super black and covered most of the tiny spots of wear.

Looking forward to seeing how it shoots. Might get an SRT for it.
