difference between M-70 extreme and Stainless Classic

The stock is different and the barrel on the Extreme is fluted.

There is no reason for one to be more accurate over the other except that the B&C stock is stiffer and has an aluminum bedding block. Both are conducive to accuracy.

Both the stainless and the extreme weather have 26 inch barrels// In 300 win Mag .. I did not notice the fluted barrel in the picture I guess // My bad .. But I do find my stainless too be moose accurate anyway

Only Model 70 I currently own is a Stainless Classic .375 H&H, I’d like an EW stock on it at some point.

Ardent....

Like you I’m loving the Model 70 allure. I also like that EW stock. So I looked at Prophet River and they imported a bunch of SA and LA Bell and Carlson stocks. It set me back $400 ish and a no tax promotion just happened to commence. I have it installed on my Featherweight Compact 308 in current BACO rendition , South Carolina.... I could not be happier. Life is very good.

It’s one of those decisions one never regrets!!

Big bonus; this combination is a sub-MOA shooter.
Life is too short!

Cheers, Barney

I like it Barney, had an Echols stock on my first of three stainless .375 M70s I’ve owned. The fact I’ve rebought the same gun three times is probably a good indication I should hang onto this one, this time.

That’s the same thing I did with the classic 300WM. Had one in the safe for awhile, sold it to a friend. The first handloads he put through it went into a ragged hole. He really likes the rifle and would not sell it back to me.... I had to have another, took awhile.
