Could someone tell me what the difference between a vortex hs-t 6-24x50 mrad and a pst 6-24x50 mrad scope is?

So far the only thing that appears different is that the pst has a reticle that illuminates for an additional $500 or so.

Would either scope jive well with a rem 700 that be used for precision shooting from 600-1000 meters?

Thanks.
While I hopefully wait for replies I'll claw my way through the ffp-sfp threads.

For a difference of $500, it sounds like you were looking at the PST FFP. I know because I've doing quite a bit of research and shopping around as I'm going to be buying the FFP version. The SFP version is quite a bit less $.

Thanks guys. Could someone explain in laymans terms what CRS zero-stop shims are for?
I can see the reticles are different but don't know enough to understand the difference between the PSTs EBR-1 reticle and HS-Ts VMR-1 reticle.

I was looking at the Viper HS-LR but they don't seem to have the option of MRAD?

once you have your scope zeroed you take the turret off and install the shims under the turret and reinstall the turret. the shimms shims stop the scope from being dialed any lower than your set zero

Just came back from my first range outing with a new HS-T 6-24x50. Decent enough scope, and I prefer the reticle to the EBR. Definitely not as crisp as my Sightron 6-24 x50 . Be careful about FFP reticle. Unless you plan on using it a lot for ranging, I don't see the benefit. I had a PST 2.5-10 FFP on my Ruger Scout. Great at 10x but damned near invisible at 2.5x. Replaced it with a VX6 1-6 and am much happier. As always, YMMV
