I found some Law Enforcement Winchester 9mm 147 gr Ranger SXT. It has model number RA9SXT on the box but on the Winchester web site the closest thing I could find in their LE line was the RA9T. Is there a difference? I read somewhere that the there was a LE version of SXT that has 6 petals (RA9T) and a civilian version with 8 petals. The stuff I found has 6 petals but doesn't have the same part number.

ghostie posted these pics in the thread Does 9 mm Ranger SXT ever show up in Canada?:

9MM Self Defence ammo?

Yah, I just found out the RA9SXT is long discontinued (1998) and replaced by the RA9T. I'm just wondering if what I got was crap?

If ammo groups out of a pistol then that ammo is not crap
when used with that pistol.

The older RA9T (copper clad HP, nickel case) is a very
consistent performer capable of delivering 24 shot groups
with sub 2 inch groups @ 50 yards fired from a match
grade 9mm pistol.

So when you say the older RA9T I assume you mean RA9SXT (which is what I got)?

By 'older' RA9T, I mean circa 2004 ish. I'm not sure whether the RA9SXT
preceedes or superceeds RA9T. I would trust both are consistently manufactured.

I think the RA9SXT were replaced by the RA9T.

That's right but apparently the RA9SXT was discontinued in 98 (though I believe there were releases of old stock as late as 2008).

I have about 300+ sitting in my gun room. I will have to check that code. Irregardless, shoots very good...about a 137-139pf out of my 4.75" barrel
