I'm learning to reload 9mm.I bought a reloading book and in the loading charts,They have 147 grain jacketed bullet and copper plated bullet,What is the difference between the two.

Plated is just that, solid lead/hard cast slug which is then completely plated with a very thin layer of copper. A jacketed bullet starts with a thick copper cup that lead is put into and will have an exposed lead base or tip, depending on the type of bullet.

And the plated bullets should be cheaper too. For shooting paper I don't think there is any real difference.

Think of the jacket as the cone the ice cream sits in, and plated as the chocolate on top.

Mmmm... I think I will go to Dairy Queen. Maybe a hot fudge sunday. :D

Thanks for the idea!
