Differences between Mossberg 500 and 590?

Im looking at purchasing a shotgun sometime in the near future and im wondering what the difference is between the 2 models.

Also does anyone know a place in Edmonton that stocks the Spec Ops NRS stock? I really like the look of it and I'd prefer a pistol grip with an adjustable stock.

One big difference is the ability to add a magazine tube extension on the 590. Can't do that on the 500.

If you want level 6 tacticool go with the 590

590 and 500 are pretty close, 590 has heavier receiver and barrel, as well as a clean out mag tube (500 is closed end). The 590A1 adds a metal trigger guard and safety to the 590, meeting US milspec requirements fully. 590A1's the best, all of them are good however.

Any clue where I'd be able to find the NRS stock in stores? Also what would I need if I wanted to mount a flashlight?

Have them both. Like the 500 for lightness but the 590 because you do have access to the mag tube for clean out. Had a 500 factory follower get stuck on me once, not a good feeling
