I tried to follow the links at end of article, but they appear defunct. Anyone know how or where the Rifleman series of scopes fit in here?? Would be kind of interesting if today's rifleman was equivalent of 1970's Vari-X?

Hard to take that article too seriously, given the spelling, grammar and syntax errors... it was a painful read.

According to that chart, it looks like there is some truth to the VX-1 being as good optically as the old Vari-X III

The Rifleman series? Leupold should be ashamed to put their name on them..... seriously!

The reticule on my VX3 2.5-8 x36 regular duplex seems finer( in the wider section) than the reticules on both my vari x 111 and my X111 all in 2.5-8 x36 and all regular duplex.
Am I wrong or has anyone else noticed this......I like the older ones better !!
