There are actually 3 generations of sear block, 2 generations of grip frame, 4 generations of barrel and at least 3 generations of magazine.
3 sear blocks - small pin and spring, large pin and spring, and the current redesigned 'one size fits all' block
2 grip frames - with and without ability to mount a thumb safety
4 barrels - original, redesigned at the breach, redesigned again to slow unlocking and redesigned with changed twist rate
3 generations of mags - black, grey, and grey with calibre marked follower.
2 generations of ejector exist too
3 generations of striker, newest being the stainless ones
This is all AFTER the "letter series" guns, which have a letter marked inside the dust cover (the last letter used was 'H') - more 'modern' guns have a series of dots in the dust cover.

As far as the Apex sear kit goes, those parts - the sear, and firing pin block - have not changed. You might have to re-use your sear spring if you have a really old gun like mine, but no one who's fired my gun has ever complained about the trigger.
