Different gen 3 glock 17s?

Hey all, I bought a gen 3 glock a while ago and just love it. I noticed my gen 3 doesnt have the little magwell cutout by your pinky on the grip and the front sight is attached in the same manor as the new gen4s. Personally i like the look better without the cut out but I was just curious about this. Im guessing maybe they made these changes on the newer gen 3s? Maybe someone can confirm. thanks
