Different method of covering your muzzle

try finger "cots". they are like mini condoms and will roll over your barrels muzzle. Comes in different sizes. You can buy ones designed for muzzleloaders but they cost more. Cots can be found at your drugstore. best way to keep your barrel free of crud when your pushing bush and twigs and such are falling.

I have used both electrical tape cut to size on the end of the barrel and the finger cots. Both work well and don't change the point of impact to any significant degree.

I would be concerned about using the earplug in the barrel for field use though since the bore could easily be sealed if you got snow or rain on the end of the barrel in freeze/ thaw conditions!

Finger cots are the same as those "muzzle condoms" that are sold for $$$ compared to a pack of finger cots.

I can get them for free, never use them, because they are fragile. Electric tape still rules.:)

i tried using electrical tape but i noticed that it doesn't stick if it's cold out so i use hockey stick tape

i wonder what would happen if an ear plug in the end of the barrel got wet and froze. might be exiting. i use the electrical tape cause it rains a lot here on the wet coast. it only falls off if i pull the trigger.

I cover my muzzle with my right hand cause there's usually a beer in my left to make room for the smoke in my right and that way when I sneeze I don't spill my beer and also so I can put the scotch tape on the end of my barrel with my right hand without having to put down my beer that's in my left cause I can put on the tape and still have my smoke in my mouth and......
