I shoot a PCP rifle in .22cal and thought I would post some of the different pellets I use. These are the Predator pellets.

Do they work well...I have no idea, anything I shoot dies, but they do make a whop sound on pigeons at approx 1100fps. Apparently they are JSB hollow points with a polymer tip added. The JSB Exact pellets are the best ones I have ever used, they work great on critters and on paper.

I have also used some H&N Barracuda Match pellets for long distance shooting (100 yards or so at crows).

There are a lot of choices out there as far as pellets go, but I like the JSB Exacts the best. They also make Diablo wad cutters for paper and Straton pointed tip. The wad cutters would probably make a nice whop sound on pigeons. I may have to pick up a tin or two.:D

The JSB Predators are what I shoot grouse with in my HW80K/.22 and the Jumbo exacts everything else.......750+fps...............Harold***Barracuda Match AKA Beeman Kodiak Match

The JSB's are 16 grains (I think) and the H&N are 22 grain if I remember correctly. I can put them through 2x4s so it has a fair amount of energy I would say. I've shot gophers at about 75 yards.

Um, I use the flat-topped .177 pellets and the round-topped ones.........:D....I ought to start shooting air rifle more (currently have just one, it's an inexpensive 495 FPS Marksman with a dubious Tasco 4x scope).

I used to love turning-around the standard, flat-topped .177 pellets, b/c the base was effectively a hollowpoint....not too accurate, but far-better for knocking down cans at reasonable distances...;)

.22's distracted me from air-rifles for too long!

Hey Guys..

KDX...

Nice pellets....

I shoot RWS Super H in both 4.5mm and 5.4 mm exclusively.. The rifles like them and do a pretty good job at knocking stuff down...

Those Predator pellets look interesting.. Only thing that concerns me with them is impact separation .. I shoot allot of my critters in the chest cavity, so just wondering if you've noticed tip separation with those ?

Those pellets are nicely made and uniform for sure..

Do the Barracudas come in a hollow point at all,,or just domed ??

For some reason I haven't had good luck with domed or Super Point pellets and any of my RWS guns...

I'll dig up some critter pics...

As far as separation goes, I'm not sure. I just throw the crows in the garbage or leave the gophers for their buddies to snack on. The Barracudas are domed only. Personally, I would just stick with what your rifle likes and concentrate on shot placement.

What .177 pellet would you all recommend for 10m paper punching? I don't need super high grade stuff, just something decent to get me started off.

I shoot with .177 cal Predator Hunting Pellets, and RWS .177 Hyper Velocity Pellets...I was previously shooting with some Crosman pointed pellets, but I wasn't getting very good penetration. I also love the Hyper Velocity pellets because they are lead free, meaning I don't have to scrub my hands clean after loading and firing my airguns.

Mammoth,

I use common Crosman 7.9 gr Match in my Slavia 630, they group quite well
(1/4 inch at 10 m) but don't do so well in my Slavia Tex 3 pistol where I use
Ruko Match (7,9gr too if memory serves well).
