Different priming systems?

I'm looking at starting to reload and I can't find much information on the priming systems of the rcbs turret press or the lyman t-mag II. It seems a lot of people use a hand primer because they don't like the primer system on the presses. Is there any truth to this or do they work fine? Thanks for the reply's.

for non progressive reloading, i use both a universal rcbs hand tool and i also prime on my presses. it depends on the case or the volume im reloading, but trypically i do small primers by hand and large by press.. my rcbs hand tool seems finicky sometimes... id recommend a non universal if you go that route

I'm the same way. I will only do small primers with the hand primer and do large primers on the press. My hand primer starts hurting my hand after around 20 cases. Plus with the press, there's more leverage so it takes less pressure to seat them and they usually seat all the way. Whereas my hand primer, every now and then doesn't quite fully seat the primer. Plus my Lee hand primer feels cheap. It feels like it flexes when seating large primers.

Priming system on the press=if your press has a priming arm(lge&small), minor mechanical skills required to adjust the automatic primer feed(tube holding 100?). New and old RCBS presses use different mechanisms. I combine priming with powder thru expander die for handgun. Fast and effective 3 steps in one.
Priming system threaded into die thread on press(with or w/o auto primer feed)ram-prime? Straight line and powerful(especially for guys with arthritis in hands. Available from lee and others

Sounds like preference from trial and error.RCBS has the auto primer bench model, it's double the price of a hand primer but looks like a solid piece of equipment. Wondering if anyone has experience with that primer?

It is a good piece of equipment especially if you are loading 50 or more cases at a time.
