I was checking out some vz accesories and stumbled across these. I have zero affiliation just love looking at new or different choices for the vz58 line.
I wonder if anybody in Canada has one or tried it?

Neat. I like the side mount. I picked up the dust cover scope mount from corwin arms a little while back (https://www.corwin-arms.com/product/cz-858vz-58-dust-cover-scope-mount-2) and it's an okay mount. My only beef with it is that it requires a tool to remove/reinstall. However, I found it a lot better than the front foreguard mount (covering the piston).

I've used the side mount adapter and found the site mount way too high, the mount heavy and bulky. The advantage of the side mount is that the rail allows for easy swapping with other scope/bracket combos.

True to the side mount, but they do shoot loose after a while tho.

We actually sold 10 of them in Canada already. Price was very similar to dust cover scope mount sub $200. Only problem we found with this mount and it is the main reason we dropped it. It is the need to order different mounts for CZ 858 (standard military width) CSA VZ 58 that is bit wider and for US clones of VZ 58 that also have slightly different sizes. This mount relies on precise width in order to function properly so different models require different mount sizes

The "Zendle" one I had (I think that was the manufacturer) was an awesome quick detach mouth but like Martin stated it only fit on CZ858 rifles. Any other variant and it wouldn't fit.

Anybody know anything about a steel or aluminum Magwell adapter for the .223 version? Maybe hi cal would be interested in making one. I'd really like to swap the polymer one out. Or at the very least have steel or aluminum mags! Any thoughts ?

You find? I've pounded out a metric tonne of ammunition through mine with a side mount and it's remained as solid as ever.

Its happened to me once but I caught it before it flew off during firing and happened to a close friend of mine shooting next to me twice. I witnessed his slide right off his rifle during firing and fall 5 feet atleast to a concrete floor right in top of his holosun red dot. Red dot still works perfectly but even after tightening his to a solid state, it happened again

Curious as to what the sight picture is like using the csa side mount. Looking to get a csa vz58 and the side mount looks like what I would be going for off the bat.

With a low power (3-4x) fixed magnification prism sight like the new Vortex one or the Primary Arms 7.62 BDC sight, do you still see the front sight? I would assume the Centre of the scope would be about 1 inch above the rear sights. It would be nice if you had a clear picture without the front sight visible at all but I'm thinking it's not high enough.

Also could someone tell me how long the rail is? Can't seem to find the info anywhere. Hoping it's around 4 inches or 10cm long...
