This one looks like an interesting revolver concept on display at Shot. Curious how the range reports come back. If we were not banned and this came into production, I would have been tempted

There are definitely some interesting revolver designs out there.
I would have picked up a Mateba MTR-8 for sure if I had a 12.6.

I passed on a Mateba Unica Autorevolver in 44 a few years ago that I regret. I know Tactical Imports was taking pre-orders for a new edition but sadly it never panned out in time.

The Webley Fosbery was the original auto revolver. If I had had more of a historical collection, that would have been a nice one, but they were going for 6 to 10K.

Was never too tempted by the Chiappa Rhino for some reason, even with the Mateba lineage. Still I'd like to try one at the range at some point. Anyone really loving their Rhino more that their S&W, Python, or Manurhin?

What about the gasses and Flame from the front of the cylinder? I didnt read the article just looking at the picture. I wouldn't want my hand right under the front of the cylinder gap.

That is why the bottom part is completely closed I think. Would be nasty to clean after a few rounds..

Yes the cylinder is enclosed to protect the hand. I imagine you are right about the cleaning. Would be curious to see an internal diagram or breakdown of the mechanism. Also wondering about that DA pull. I guess time with tell if there is anything innovative here, or if it will go the way of the Boberg and Hudson. Cool to see someone trying something different though. I want one for novelty alone.

That article linked to another pretty cool design - the Toz-81 Mars.
Designed for cosmonaughts for survival if their capsule returned in the middle of nowhere. Never seen that before.

I've never seen the Chameleon either, but sounds like it never even got to the functional prototype stage. Like the off set cylinder.
Czech designer. The Czechs sure have done some interesting work in firearms of the past few decades

Let’s hope that won’t be the last Canadian legal option to purchase… !
