I am going to buy some John Wayne 45 colt single action handguns from USFA. :canadaFlag:;):shotgun:
Have choice between black powder frame and cross-pin frame.
Can anybody provide difference between frame styles
Any info would be greatly appreciated

There is a reason that Colt (in 1877 & 1878 with those models & @1893 w/the SAA) went to the cross pin style frame.

I've seen those screw retainers so chewed up it's no longer funny.

the old "black-powder frame" would have a single screw in the front of the frame going in on an angle to hold the base pin.....

Thanks for the info, feller's, I will think on this a bit, Might go with black powder frame for authentic, look but not quite sure yet, Main trouble will be getting forms and import certificates, and registration stuff.

I think there are some USPF dealers in Canada. You might try talking to DARK International, I believe he has carried USPF in the past.
