What are some good stock options for a Rem700 heavy bbl with a detachable mag ? I am in the process of refinishing the factory stock (looked too plain before) but if it doesnt give me the results I want, I will need to find a suitable replacement. Would be interested in wood or synthetic, but it must accept the factory detachable mag option. This is for a short action (308 to be exact).

EDIT: How are the Hogue stocks specifically ? Would you get the pillar or full aluminum bedding ? This will be going on a long range coyote gun so accuracy will be important....

I've been looking at either the Boyd's or Richards Microfit laminated stocks.

If you search those in the gunsmithing forum you'll see several threads, with others mentioned as well

I orderd a Richards Microft about 3 months ago never heard tail of anything yet :( I the wildcat tumb hole stock for my 700 7mm RUM, in electic blue.

I guess I have to phone them.

I looked at the Hogues way back when.... are they conducive to good long range accuracy ? The ones I had for my 10/22s had a bit of flex in them; I guess the full aluminum bedding would help alot. Anyone have one on a 308 ?
