Different types of 3 Gunners

The Virgin: This enthusiastic shooter is at his first 3 Gun match, and will happily chat to everyone about it. Unfortunately he's also least likely to understand the meaning of "in the hole," most likely to run out of ammo during a stage, and might just DQ himself if he gets too excited.

Picture the cheerful beagle puppy that everyone loves to pat on the head, but you wince when he trips over his ears or paws.

Could you enlighten us 3 gun noobs?

My guess is TVPP is alluding to the "virgin" not being ready when it's his turn shoot that's coming up soon and maybe it would be a good time to stop talking and get ready.
Or... It's an attempt at some vague double entendre having to do with virgins and knowing about being "in the hole".

How I see myself...wasn't sure if others did as well...

I'm just hoping it's not some sort of Calgary sheep rodeo reference that he intends to demonstrate at the team match.;)

Typical RO/Scorekeeper stage commands - "Tom is the shooter, Harry is on deck, and #### is in the hole. The rest of you slugs are pickin' brass, taping or settin' steel."

The "Re-Shootist"....this particular parasite will employ all kinds of useless drivel....usually cites the IPSC/USPSA rule book, or will generally pull rules out of their proverbial behind to try and gain an advantage.....Carma usually intervenes on these individuals...thankfully!

To be fair... Sometimes the reshootist has his re shoots foisted upon him... "Sometimes".

I'll add another. ..

"The ghost shooter"

This specimen supposedly has all the gear, talks/posts lots on the interweb about 3gun... Even offers lots of advice on the topic of 3gun, yet...

Is conspicuously absent from any/all matches.

I hope to pop my 3-gun cherry next year and fall into one of these categories. Hopfully the "New to 3-Gun but wins first time out, crowd goes wild, wife let's him keep the lights on that night!" ;)

"The Upgrader" This shooter has never shot the same equipment at two different matches. Everytime you see them they have a new accessory, scope, gun, belt or whatever. To this shooter, gear is far more important than practice...In fact, you've never even seen them at the range if there isn't a match going on. Has been known to show up at a match with guns that haven't even been fired before, let alone fired by them.

Known associates....The Tactical Gucci and The Competitor.

On an unrelated note...I have a few things for sale on the EE if you guys are interested! :p

Lmfao I have been guilty of this in the past. Too funny.

The fisherman

Has an excuse for what his lack of practice shows in his shooting
Example-I slipped and lost my footing causing me to miss that steel plate at ten yards

Coming from my own experience.

Bersmith reminded me of another 3gunner I hadn't mentioned...

The Gentleman...this rare specimen has seen his fair share of matches and how he places ranks about 5th in his reasons for coming out. Despite his wealth of experience at these events (or perhaps because of) he is the first one to grab a patch gun and start helping to reset the stage after another shooter is finished, setting an example for the guys standing around comparing patches and staring at their tactical boots. He takes the time to encourage the new guys in the squad. Before he leaves the match he thanks the volunteers who he knows would rather be shooting instead of running around timing and scoring because he's been there. Many times. He is the most coveted of all types of 3-Gunners. He is the real "winner" of the match.
