So my week at camp is over. Had a pretty good year this year. Now that it's over I want to know some of the unusual watch names that you guys have and some stories of why they are named that. We have one called the #### hole. Last year we found a runway that the deer were getting buy us. So I sat there one day "before it was named" and if nature didn't call. Well I did my duty and didn't think anything of it. Well I went home that night and a couple more days went by and they did that chase again. Well. Lad shot a deer and if he didn't start tracking it and he stepped in my Dudu. It wasn't long before I received a phone call. Some other watch names are the forty footer for obvious reasons, the soup kitchen because deer line up to get over the dam and the Hilton. It's a ground blind with a lazy boy and propane heater.

Watch names can be revealing for obvious reasons and yet sometimes you wonder why.
We had one that was called the leaning hemlock and that was changed a couple years ago because the hemlock has been gone for 20 years.
The bucket watches, There are 3 all in a row, first, second and third.
Then there is the rock and another called the rock pile. One is on the camp side of the river and the other is other side of the river.
There are so many and for years they have changed names or locations it's hard to keep track of them all.

It really is. I thought we had some interesting names so I thought I would start a thread to share some of the funny ones.

We call ours "The Tree House" for obvious reasons. It's the size of a tiny hut 18 ft up, situated along a main deer run about 30 yds from the river on private land. Thought about electrifying it but the run would be about 150 yds from the nearest house and the voltage drop would be horrendous.

I don't know all the stories behind the Deerdr's but he had one called "Field of Dreams". I shot a 6 point(eastern) or 3x3(western) however you look at it at 338 metres from that stand with my Model 71 .348 Winchester in 2009. After that he renamed the stand "Frank's Tree". Last year his grandson popped a bruiser out of it and I know they renamed it once again though the new name eludes me?
He also has one called "Hamburger Hill". I'd like to know the story behind that one?!!

See, this is a big difference between you Easterners and us - I thought this thread was about Breitlings, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Movado....

I have a hill I post on every year and there is always lots of action.

The boys started calling it "Brass Hill" a few years ago.

Two of my most recent are Thistle Hill, and the G-Spot. The first for obvious reasons, the second because its a "great spot". Some others have been Lucky Bush, The Ditches, and Elk Canyon just to name a few.

We some some called the H tree, Argo alley, the black notch, & chico's stand. They were all named years ago and the names stuck.
It does make it easier to describe where you are over the radios by using names.
