Difficulty Hand Priming

I find that pushing that white piece thingy all the way in and turning the shell holder so that the open end is facing the primer tray works the best for me. Turn it while looking down where the primer come up and you can see if its centered or not.

Yes I was noticing the same issue. Certainly seems like a design flaw but I'll continue playing around with it to see if I can get it to work.
 
The Hornady brass had a crimped primer pocket. I had the exact issue, and after some googling found that Hornady started crimping them. I put the chamfer tool on my drill and gave them a quick blast. Fixed the issue 100%.

Finally got the chance to load some more Hornady brass. This time I gave the primer pockets a few turns with a reamer. Seems to have fixed the issue with seating primers.
 
Having used both the RCBS and Lee hand primers, I strongly prefer seating primers with the Lee tool. Sold the RCBS after the first session with it. Hated the feel and the lack of leverage compared to the Lee. It just felt awkward to use in comparison. The Lee seemed easier to disassemble/assemble too.

Just my experience, yours may differ.
 
I have the same problem with my lee. Most casings prime really nice, with others it takes pushing the lever against the work bench to get enough leverage to seat the primer. I'll try spinning the casing next time to see if that helps. I'm always worried about setting one off. All primer pockets have been uniformed and flash holes deburred. Frustrating!
