Digital Calipers for $9.99

I bought some a full price (of course) and they are great. The only thing is they are accurate to only .01 of an inch. ie. my dial one would read 1.115 but the digital reads 1.11. Hope this is close enough as it is a lot easier than the dial calipers I have.

Busy Bee Calipers

I got some similar calipers from Busy Bee for a similar price. I checked them against my Starrett reference lengths and the calipers were spot on. I think most of them come from the same chinese factory, but with a different label.

What's hard about dial calipers? I must be missing something. Even the Layman stainless steel dial caliper only takes a couple seconds (if that) to measure to 0.001(5) for most applications. And you can buy that for less than 30 bucks.
