Digital Scale Recommendations?

Would like to know also. I have a older one and never an issue.

Acculab VIC-123. Measures to .02 grains.

I used to use an RCBS digital but found it drifts too much. If you want to see how much they drift weight several items and write down the weight (use a penny, a watch battery and a bullet). Come back 1 hour later and weight them again. Try this several times over a day writing down the weight each time. Do the test again the next day:eek:
If you think +/-.2 grains is good enough for what you are doing, have at it. To me that means a .4 gr spread over 2 days.

I calibrate mine every time I use it and only use it for an hour or so at a time, so how much would it drift in that time frame?

The same objects weigh different very time even if the scale is zeroed. Your scale may not have that problem, but it is an easy test to see if there is a drift.

Anyone using a Winstead Peters ACC-2000 from Berry's Manufacturing? Seems to be a decent scale for the price.

I have looked at the Gempro 250 as suggested by a few members, as well as the Acculab VIC-123 (its replacement is a bit too pricey for me), as well as the RCBS Rangemaster750. I am a little weary on the RCBS however, since there is talk of inaccuracy.

Thanks for all the suggestions/discussion so far...

well, as usual you can find hornady stuff on ebay for 30% the price....

Is the china made generic of http://www.hornady.com/store/GS-1500-Grain-Electronic-Scale/

Sad..... same thing for their ultrasonic bath (bought a better unit anyway).

Found a nice scale :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/30g-x-0-001...683?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aad57512b

30 grams, .001 gram precision (so thats approx 450 grains, .02 grains precision. most scales are .2 grain)

Made by YC scale (same company that makes hornady scales...)

http://www.ycscale.net/product-pocket-scale-HA.htm

26$ +3$ shipping. From usa. I'll buy this one and report. Sick of the lee scale ;)

Edit : Just bought it. I'll tell you how it is when I get it. .001g seems good to me.

Interesting, thinking of trying one myself. I see a 60 second auto power off in the specs. Gack. f:P:2: I hope it doesn't do that with the AC adaptor.

I had a similiar issue but it proved to be the lighting over my bench or where I had the bench positioned by the heating system
Something for sure was effecting it. I moved the bench and no longer had any issues with the scale.

One thing I don't like about my RCBS is that it only measures .1 gr. One thing I don't like about the Vic-123 is that it measures .02 gr. Did you know the average weight of a kernel of Varget weighs .04 gr.? Yes I know I may be a little bit anal when it comes to weighing every charge between 46.0 and 46.02 gr, but it is all part of my mental prep for the matches. I know for a fact that my ammo is the best that I can make. Therefore if it doesn't hit the bull, it is pilot error and I can't blame the ammo or even second guess it.
