Hey all, hoping someone here has experiance with this and can help me out. I'm setup to load 223 on my 650XL, I picked up this trimmer and another tool head.

When I install the size trim die as per Dillon's instructions, even brass that is 1.768" doesn't stick out of the top of the die to get trimmed? Can i just adjust it down more or will that mess up the sizing?

It seems my cutter is extremely close to the size/trim die, like a couple thou..... is that normal or am I all piled up?

Do you have a case guage? If not, stop what you are doing and get one. You will need it.

What I used to do is size all my cases in the Dillon Carbide dies so they fit nicely between the two steps on the guage. (ie, the headspace was above the bottom step but below the upper stop.)

Then it was the balancing act adjusting the RT1200. It is supposed to be a sizing die but without a neck expanding bulb. When the brass was sized in the small based dies, little touched the die beyond the neck.

Adjust the RT die down until you make contact with the sized cases shoulder. Then screw the cutter down until you are trimming to 1.750.

Clear as mud?
