Dillon 550B YES or NO? Help me quick please

Tks Crash. You made a great job. You even talked about things I didn't know. Now I need to find a place to buy a Hornady. I don't really want to order by mail. I'd prefer to buy it directly in a store. Do you know a place around Montreal? I don't mind driving a bit. (I'll probably have to go in Ontario!!)

You may want to check with Higginson Powder in Hawkesbury; they may have it in stock or they may be able to roder it in for you. They are great guys to deal with; I buy many of my supplies from them.

Hey,
I just found another 550 in new condition. The guy sells it with the strong mount and the 9mm dies for 450$. Is it worth it. Will I be able to transfer the Dillon warranty?

I have not used anything but my 550 for metallic loading, so I can only tell you about the Dillon. It can easily be used as a single stage for accuracy rifle loads and as a progressive for pistol. You can do pretty much anything you want because of the way it works. I just bought a second 550 to use as a single loader. Mike Dillon doesn't give a rats ass about who the original buyer was, If you have a dillon press , it is covered by his warranty. Generally even if you do something stupid with it. So I've heard......

I bought a LNL with the auto case feeder.
Looked at a friends little dillon 550 the other day I thought they auto indexed, nope??
You better look at each in action first if you are on the fence.
The LNL is cheaper
has 5 stations compared to dillons 4
very easy to switch primer sizes and dies
spent primers drop down a rubber tube into (in my case a pop can) or garbage can, away from your snout.
I would say a LNL is easier to remove and replace a case at any stage for inspection.
The ram on the LNL is also way larger and has grease nipples.
You won't go wrong with a dillon they are proven.
I was in your same situation, did a lot of researching, and am a happy camper with the LNL. If you have any questions about the LNL feel free to ask.

It's done. I am the proud owner of a Dillon 550. I can't wait to sart reloading. If I don't like the press, I'll be able to sell it the price I paid it... Thank you for your help.
