*Update*
Got this issue fixed up. Took a bit of faffing around and I changed / replaced a few parts but what seemed to make the difference was replacing the black plastic / nylon part that pushes the case after it drops from the case feeder tube.
Suspect the old one was worn to the point it was sloppy and was causing the hassle.
