:(So I need a few hundered rounds of .40 for this weekend and my press isn't working.

As far as I can tell the depriming die is pushing the primer out of the brass, BUT the primer is stuck on the pin and is partialy reseated in the case. It then rotates to the next station and gets pushed in when I go to prime the next round.

I've changed out the pin with several others, one from a 9mm kit and one from a 45 kit.

I've been running this prees for years and never had this happen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Sosa

Maybe your primer drop tube is obstructed, not allowing the spent primer to fall away freely.
Do you have a good light over your press so you can see into this area?

Its called primer flow-back or draw-back. I only had that problem with Speer cases. So whatever primers Speer was using in their nickel .40 cases were gripping on the decapping pin and not falling off.

I've never had this problem with Win primers.

Call Dillon.

No the primer drop tube is clear checked that.

It seems to only be happening with speer cases so far and only on some of them, other speer ones are dropping free.

I'm going to call Dillon now, just didn't want to do it at one am.

Thanks

I had this happen with my 650 and after reading alot of research was told to sharpen the tip if the decapping pin like a nail head(3 sided pyramid). never happened again. try it.

I just got off the phone with Dillon and they said to sharpen it a bit, but this makes more sence. I'll try it tonight.
