Hey folks, I just set up my new 650, and after a few trial and error, finally got it running great.
But I had some powder spills, and it's sticking to the black grease that's on the moving parts.

Do I need to remove all that grease? Is it only packing grease? Or is it there for function?
Thanks

Are you spilling predefined because the shellplate is advancing and stopping abruptly?

If so, make sure the shellplate bolt is not too tight (the setscrew retains the bolt), then do some Google searches and you'll find a low-mass ball mod, lightening the spring retaining the ball, or in my case, I also added the linear bearing kit that goes under the shellholder bolt - smooth as silk and no powder spills.

Hope this helps.

IMG_0427.jpgIMG_0427.jpgI don't think that's my issue.
At initial set up, my primers weren't always seating, ( I think that was my fault).
This would cause powder to spill through the primer pocket, leaving powder everywhere.

It's now stuck all over the greased parts :)

Should I remove the grease?

Ah, more details appear...powder spilling through missing primers in brass...

If you degrease during the powder clean-up, then be sure to reapply grease as the Dillons are shipped greased up and ready to run.

Yes ,at initial set up I was missing a few primers and the powder was spilling out through the pockets.

It's now stuck in the grease.

I was just wondering if I need to remove all the grease or just leave it?

But I now see I need to leave it ,

Thanks
