I am thinking about purchasing either the Dillon Square Deal B or the RL 550 B press and I was wondering where in Canada would be the best place to look.

Try Budget Shooter supply, site sponsor, also, I think International in surrey bc has a 550 in stock. BTW, you should keep in mind that a Square Deal does not use standard size dies. IMHO, Dillon is the way to go, I use a 650, but a 550 is still a great machine and you absolutely cannot beat Dillon's warranty!

You can also order straight from Dillon, that's what I do. x2 on the staying away from the Square Deal presses as they use proprietary dies.

My 650 was just stolen so im in the same boat as you op, I bought from p&d before (yes they stock dillon presses) but this time im going with the square deal from budget shooter supply.

Murray Gardner sure helped me out with my square deal and 550. Don't mean to step on a sponsors toes because I'm sure that they will provide good service; just happened on Murray.

550 is the way to go for a starter unless you plan on loading one caliber forever because of the proprietary dies.

How was his shipping? He was my other choice for a new press.

How did you get your press stolen?
Did you get your guns stolen too?

Was finishing my garage and put everything in bins then took them to a buddies garage a day later his garage got broken into and they took the bins with my reloading gear, I dont think they even knew what it was since they dumped the bin holding my powder and used it too steal some of his tools.

Ha Ha Same thing happened to me, I was building my "gun room" in the basement and had all my reloading stuff in an out building. I had four different presses on the floor in the "locked" building. One of the presses was a used Dillon 650 that I had bought at a gun show for my new gun room, hadn't loaded a round with it. The other three presses were Lee, from the very cheapest to a Loadmaster...guess which press was stolen and which presses were left. That Dillon and some other very specialized tooling were stolen, lots of "normal stuff was left untouched.

Quick question, I goto budget shooter supply's website, he has Dillon 650 for sale for 3 different calibers, can't I buy any of his 650's and load any calibre I want with the right dies?

Well you will need conversion kit's and misc items that are caliber specific they usually come preconfigured for 9mm from the factory any else is extra, case feeders bits and pieces.

He was a bit busy before Christmas and my order was less than straightforward because I sent him pictures of what I had, told him what calibers I wanted to load then asked him "to send the rest of what I need". So shipping wasn't immediate but given the circumstances great service I'd say!

If you mean cost of shipping don't remember but it didn't stand out as out of line?

Custom reloading was really great with the shipping making sure any unnecessary packing was not in the box..so it was cheaper by my reconing

Murray Gardner does a great job. Bought all my reloading stuff from him.

Thanks for the info,im thinking about picking up the brass tornado as well and it seems like a one stop shop, hopefully shipping isnt too pricey ive never had a press shipped before but looking back on the 650 it was a pretty large box.
