Hello i have been loading on a Lee Turret for a while but i would like to move from the semi progressive to progressive now.
I will use my lee turret to reload for my AR15.
I have 2 rockchuckers for my precision rigs.

Anyways i will be purchasing a Dillon 550b soon and was wondering what dies everyone is using for pistol?

I am leanind towards the lee dies but was curious if the dillon powder funnel that comes in the caliber conversion kit will fit in the lee die and operate the dillon auto powder measure ok?

I will be loading 5 calibers when everything is said and done. 9mm, 38Sup, 40S&W, 10mm, and 45ACP. Rounds will be used for IPSC and IDPA.

You will need to buy the dillon powder-through die. That's what the powder funnel fits and they are sold seperately from the die sets.

The powder funnel comes as part of the caliber conversion kits. Slips into the powder die... bells the case mouth...

Yes this i know.

My question is does this powder funnel fit in other die manufacturers powder through dies like the lee powder through die for example.

No it is dillon specific. The part that goes in side is dillon only and caliber specific (some will do more than 1 case in a caliber). If you want to add your powder throw you get a special die from dillon that will hod your throw and there belling tool, It is sold seperate.
That is the way I understand it and have gotten the special die so I can use my Redding throw but as of yet have not used it.
Ken.

You can use the Lee powder measures and the Lee powder dies in the Dillon press, I have found them to work better than the Dillon measure.

Why would you spend extra bucks to buy a Lee powder measure when you already have a Progressive Dillon press that comes with a powder auto-dispensing mechanism????:eek:::confused: Let's not confuse the guy... he is already confused enough :D:D:D

D-Slayer, The Dillon 550 powder funnel will not work with any non-Dillon 550 powder dies.

BTW just so you are aware, to reload 38 super & 9mm, you will only need one caliber conversion kit for both caliber, they use the same caliber conversion kit. The same thing with 40SW & 10mm they both use the same caliber conversion kit, for the 45 ACP however, you will need a specific one caliber conversion kit for it.

Good luck and Reload safely :)

Get the Dillon dies, I have them for my 45 ACP and will get them soon for my 38/357. I'm sure the Lee are fine but I love the Dillons for the ability to remove one retaining pin to remove the inside of the seating and crimping die for cleaning. This way you don't have to remove the whole die.
They're a little more money but I've loaded thousands of rounds with them and would'nt hesitate to buy them for any caliber.
