Stupid question perhaps but I am looking at getting an RF-100, my question is are the normal primer tubes obsolete with this. ie. do you just take the tube off the RF and dump it straight into your press? I believe the answer is yes but just wondering if you have the one tube is it easy to keep up with an automated macine like the Mark 7 autodrive?

RF-100 does make primer tubes essentially obsolete. Even when loading at 1800 rounds per hour I cannot out strip it. When you are loading though either have it beside the machine so you are not turning your back on the press or have someone feeding it for you.

I find it expensive, it depends how many rounds you reload I guess.

The vibra prime works well for small batches of 1000 or so rounds. Takes like 15 seconds to fill a tube.
Commercial reloading, now there is a use for it.
 
I have had the vibra prime, the rf-100, and the Syntron primer tube filler (rf-100 on steroids). After a bullet feeder the rf-100 was the best investment. If you are a low volume shooter than it is hard to get your money's worth. However if Irish is ordering a Mark Vii than the rf-100 is a worthwhile investment.

I use the Vibra prime and bought a few extra tubes it works out well after a little fiddling with the plastic orifices

I've treated myself with the RF-100, but for some reason my experience with it has been very frustrating finding the sweet spot in the amplitude of the vibration to make it work properly :

It's eiither too low and I'm left with a dozen primers not climbing and dropping into the tube, or too high and I have flipped primers in the tube...

Anyone experienced the same issue and/or has a fix for this?
 
There are two issues that I have seen that cause something like you describe. You might want to check the level on your machine; a good indicator is that it isn't level is that primers float towards a certain area. Other people put a mouse pad under their machine and it resolves some issues. Mine has the rheostat on it and it is set to parallel to the ground + a little high on the left side.

I have a friend who had a hell of a time getting his to work properly. Mine has worked 100% no issues for the past two years and probably 50,000 rounds loaded.
