I just bought a Dillon Square Deal B, from The Reloader's Bench. Looks like a nice little unit. I've never set up a progressive press before, so I am taking my time. Anyone had good success with this model?
I`m been using one for several years, never had a problem of any kind, excellend machine, reccommend it highly. Smart purchase, I average about 350 and hour in .38 spl.
You're gonna love it Uncle Walther.
I bought a used one and like it.
It needed a little tweaking and a few new small parts(which Dillon supplied free).
I had never reloaded, but was lucky enough to have a friend who loads on a SDB.
He showed me the ropes and now I'm up and running.
Take your time and before you know it you'll be churning out first rate ammo.
Thanks for the opinions guys. I am still getting it set up and fine-tuned. I want to take my time, so that I understand the machine 100% before churning out the first batch of ammo.
I bought a used square deal in 1999 and had never reloded before, it was very easy to set up and use. I think Dillon has a video on just how to use.I know they have a complete manual you can download and print out. I did this and it helped a lot. I did break my press and they said send it in for repair,it was sent back no charge with lots of new parts and is working great.
I've got it up and running now. My first batch of ammo was underpowered, and did not cycle the action on my USP reliably. Made some adjustments, and the second batch cycled fine, and was very accurate.
Bought mine back in the fall of 1990 direct from Dillion, and I have loaded thousands of .45acps and the only problem I have had was a spring in the primming assembly broke just last year, Dillion sent me a whole new assembly free of charge within a week.
I bought mine in '92 and love it. The only problems I have had was the build up of lube in the seating dies when loading lead bullets. Clean the die regularly or it will effect seating depth.
