Dillon XL650 vs Varget

Anyone got any tips & tricks on how to get Varget to meter more consistently on the Dillon XL650 powder measure?? Recently acquired some powder and 4lbs of it are Varget which I have never used.

Some powders just don't meter well due to the shape of the granules.

The H335 and 748 will meter perfectly. Varget not so good. I prefer to use ball powder on my Dillon when making 308 match ammo.

Varget is the reason I sold my 550. It just wouldn't throw is as close as I wanted it to.

I have opened one of the containers and it meters randomly. Trying out 25gr and it meters from 24.3gr-26gr. I'll polish the Powder Measure and see if that helps.

You beat me to it, polish the measure and try to work the press as smooth and steady as you can. You won't win benchrest matches with this setup but it will work for a lot of shooting needs.

Well I polished the Powder Measure and had a very good results in doing so. The variation is now +-.3gr =o)
I might save these Varget for now as I fine them a waste of powder using them on a 55gr fmjbt projectiles. If anyone wants them I'd gladly trade you for H335 or W748. I don't reload any other rifle calibre.
